On Wednesday, April 23, His Excellency Francois Delattre, Ambassador of France, addressed an audience on campus with a presentation on Global Economic Issues and Bilateral Relations. Delattre’s visit to the Northwest Ohio area was orchestrated by Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District.
Christina Terry, Student Government Association president, opened the event, and the University Singers sang the “Star Spangled Banner” and “La Marseillaise.”
Katherine Fell, Ph.D., UF president, welcomed those in attendance.
Following Delattre’s address, Latta recognized Clyde Shull, a World War II Army veteran, for his service, specifically noting his courageous acts during D-Day, the invasion of Normandy, on June 6, 1944.
Earlier in the day, UF hospitality management students partnered with students from Owens Community College culinary arts program to prepare and serve a lunch in honor of Delattre. The lunch was hosted in the University’s Mazza Museum.
