Katy Moss Warner and Barbara Vincentsen will give an informal presentation on the community impact of floral displays and landscaping from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Hancock Historical Museum, 422 W. Sandusky Street, Findlay. The presentation is hosted by The University of Findlay.

The women are visiting Findlay as judges for America in Bloom, a national awards program that provides a framework for improving overall quality of life. The University of Findlay, recognized by America in Bloom in 2013, is participating in the program again this year. Warner and Vincentsen will tour University property on June 26 and 27.
President emeritus of the American Horticultural Society (AHS), Warner has judged cities for America in Bloom since 2007. Prior to becoming AHS president, she was director of Disney’s horticulture and environmental initiatives at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. She provided leadership to a staff of 700 to ensure Disney’s horticultural traditions of beautiful gardens and environmental responsibility were sustained in Disney parks around the world.
Warner started the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival in 1994 and co-authored the book “The Gardens of Walt Disney World Resort.” She speaks regularly on the importance of quality landscapes and sustainable maintenance practices.
Vincentsen grew up in a gardening family and has continued her family tradition in her own gardens, which have plantings shared from three generations of close family and friends. She is a licensed architect in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, and a licensed professional planner and a certified interior designer in New Jersey. Her Westfield, New Jersey, gardens were featured in last year’s America in Bloom program in Westfield.
