Jazz Ensemble Presents Annual Spring Concert
The University of Findlay Jazz Ensemble will present its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Auditorium. The theme of the concert is “Pop Music, Then and Now.”
The performance will trace popular music styles from the big band era to the present. In addition to the classic music of the swing era, the band will play music from Motown in the ’70s, pop music by Michael Jackson in the ’80s and current music by Lady Gaga and others.
Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, the band will feature a variety of soloists in a casual coffee-house setting with table and chair seating as well as traditional concert seating. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the program.
Tickets for the concert may be reserved by calling the UF Box Office at 419-434-5335. Tickets are also available at the door the day of the performance. General admission is $5. The price for students and senior citizens is $3. Admission is free for UF students, faculty and staff with I.D.
The mission of The University of Findlay music program is to promote the art of music in all its forms. UF students and the community at large are provided with opportunities for enhancing their musical appreciation through performance, listening activities and non-traditional venues.
