Alumnus Innovates Education

Brent Wise, Director of Innovation and Extended Learning at Hilliard City Schools, is using his Bachelor’s of Art in Education (’04) to re-engage students through unique teaching and learning experiences.
“The education that I received here at The University of Findlay really provided me opportunities to get out into the community to work in my junior and senior block. I really believe that it gave me a wide array of experiences. The friendships and relationships that I made here are some long-lasting friendships that I still rely on today as my personal network.
Each day I get to, potentially, fulfill a student’s dream. We have students across America who are disengaged with school these days, both at the secondary-level and higher ed, and my job is to find a way to re-engage them. Each day if I find a way to re-engage one student, it’s truly fulfilling. That’s the one thing that I love most about my job.”
