Christmas Band Concert will be ‘All About that Claus’

Santa will be in the spotlight for the University of Findlay’s Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble Christmas concert
Scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 11. At 3 p.m. in the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, the public concert is free but tickets are required by contacting the center’s box office at 419-423-2787, visiting www.marathoncenterarts.org or stopping by the box office at 200 W. Main Cross St. during business hours.
“It’s All About that Claus” is this year’s theme. Light works of the holiday season will be performed, including favorites such as “Up On a Housetop” and “Santa’s Journey.” Santa Claus himself will make a guest appearance, and will join with the bands for a rendition of “T’was the Night Before Christmas.”
Brian Miller, a senior Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management major from Rittman, Ohio will be the featured soloist. The trombonist is the winner of the 2016-2017 Concerto Competition at UF and the winner of the first Findlay Civic Band Endowed Scholarship.
The winner of the Jack and Pat Taylor Endowed Instrumental Music Scholarship for 2017-2018 will also be announced.
