Throughout fall semester, the University of Findlay’s equestrian show teams have been busy with tryouts and honing their skills during practice. Over the past two weeks, the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Hunt Seat team, IHSA Western Team, and United States Evening Association (USEA) Eventing Team had the chance to showcase their skills in their first tournaments of the year.
IHSA Western Team
The reigning IHSA national champions opened their season with a horse show on home turf, the University of Findlay Western Farm. The Oilers were the high point team in both the morning and the afternoon show.
IHSA Hunt Seat
The Oilers sent two teams to the Pre-Season Tournament of Champions at Randolph College where they placed 10th and 11th out of 15 teams.
The Eventing Team got a head start on their season competing Sept. 14-16 at the Flying Cross Farm Horse Trial in Goshen, Kentucky. The team won the intercollegiate division and several individual members placed in the top five riders.
