University of Findlay Names Jim Fritz, Ed.D., as Educational Administration Program Director

University of Findlay has named Jim Fritz, Ed.D., as the new director of the Educational Administration Program within the College of Education. Fritz has experience as a teacher, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal, school improvement consultant, director of curriculum and instruction, assistant superintendent, and 16 years as a superintendent, 14 years at Anthony Wayne Local Schools and two years at Oregon City Schools.

“There is a huge educator shortage, not just for teachers, but also for principals, superintendents, and treasurers. We need someone to really encourage good teachers to go into those leadership roles at the building and district levels,” said Julie D. McIntosh, Ed.D., dean of the College of Education.

Fritz will serve as an assistant professor in the College of Education, and as the program director for the educational administration program. He shared, “After more than two decades in K-12 leadership, I am excited to bring real-world experience into the classroom and support the next generation of educational leaders. I’m ready to channel my experiences into empowering leaders who want to make a real difference in their school buildings, departments, and districts.”

Fritz replaces Dr. Kadee Anstadt who recently accepted a role for the American Association of School Administrators, the school superintendent’s association. She will remain with the University as an adjunct professor.

McIntosh shared her excitement for current students, as they will be learning from an experienced, driven professor like Fritz, who is coming directly from a superintendent role of 16 years.

“Having that superintendent experience is critical for this role. If you’re encouraging people to be a principal or superintendent, having someone that has great experience and who has been successful in those roles is very important.”

Fritz added, “I am honored to join the University of Findlay as assistant professor and program director for the Educational Administration program. Preparing future leaders is one of the most meaningful responsibilities in our profession, and I look forward to helping aspiring administrators build the skills, confidence, and vision needed to lead.”

Fritz will officially join the University of Findlay Aug. 1, 2026.
