Findlay artist Nancy Ludi Frankenfield’s expressive portraiture is on display at The University of Findlay’s Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery, in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, through June 5.
Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day for the duration of the exhibit.
Fourteen works, created with oils, charcoal and pen and ink, are displayed.
Frankenfield has taught art at Findlay High School for 21 years and also maintains her studio practice.
She explained her fascination with portraits stems from the process of using painting and drawing methods to form “a hidden and significant humanity of the face, recording the transient history of humanity.” Works in the exhibit seek to highlight emotions captured during brief moments in time.
