The University of Findlay will host the 2026 Dr. & Mrs. DeBow Freed Contemporary Christian Lecture Series Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the AMU Endly Room. The event is free and open to the campus community, and students are encouraged to attend.

This year’s featured lecture, “Meatpacking America and the Importance of Doing Research in Our Communities,” will be presented by Dr. Kristy Nabhan-Warren, a historian and anthropologist of religion who has spent more than 25 years teaching, researching and writing about religion in the United States and the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.

Nabhan-Warren serves as the V.O. and Elizabeth Kahl Figge Chair in Catholic Studies and associate vice president of research at The University of Iowa. Her teaching and scholarship focus on how everyday people live and practice their faith. She is the author of numerous books and articles and is currently working on her sixth book.

Members of the UF community are encouraged to attend and invite students to the lecture.
