- “Tradition of Excellence”
The start of Findlay College in 1882, the selection of orange and black as the institution’s colors in 1892, and the creation of Derrick the Oiler. Over the past 140 years, many things have changed on campus. New buildings, advancements in technology, and the name change to the University of Findlay. However, one thing has remained, and that is the academic excellence, transformative experiences, and supportive community that is grounded in Christian faith.

Join Pat Gibson ’82, as he reminisces about the 1979 Findlay College football team taking home the National Championship. Gibson talks about the players, the coaches, and the traditions involved with the football program. Those messages are echoed by Michael Jerrell ’22, as he states, “They [football coaches] have all really shaped me into this person I am today and have pointed me in a good direction.”

Take a look around campus and you’ll find the Oiler Women’s Golf Team trophy, as they celebrated an undefeated season and took home the NCAA Division II National Championship. On your way to meet with New V.P.’s Kimberly Williams, MBA, J.D. and Anne Kenworthy, Ed.D., you’ll also come across Kiwibots as they deliver food around campus.
