From walking under the arch at the start of his freshman year to exiting when he graduating, Austin made the most of his college career here at The University of Findlay. He was actively involved with his Vice-President role in the SGA, a Resident Assistant his sophomore year, and a Resident Director his junior and senior year. The friendships he made with his involvement were everlasting.
“I had many people at UF that were role models and provided me great support as a student. Philip Lucas was my academic advisor and provided me direction. He helped guide me with what classes to take with my dual majors and made sure I graduated on time.”
After graduation, Austin immediately continued his education at Butler University obtaining his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. He currently works as a physician assistant at IU Health Physicians in Family Practice Medicine in Fishers, Indiana. There, he evaluates and diagnoses medical ailments, prescribes medications, orders and interprets diagnostic imaging, provides treatments, and much more. He felt more than prepared to enter the medical field with his strong science background from UF.
“When I started at UF I wasn’t exactly sure what my end career would eventually be, but I knew the forensic science program afforded me a strong foundation in science and also exposed me to a liberal arts field I was very interested in.”
Congratulations to the forensic science program as they celebrate 10 years in the College of Liberal Arts!
