UF senior Jenny Hanf is one of six recipients of the AICUO’s Awards for Excellence in the Visual Arts.
Children’s book illustration major Jenny Hanf received recognition in the Awards for Excellence in the Visual Arts Competition at a reception and exhibit at Otterbein University on Tuesday, April 26. Sponsored by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUO), the awards honor senior students from independent colleges throughout Ohio who were deemed finalists in the competition by a panel of Ohio artists and members of the art community.
Independent colleges in Ohio were asked to nominate two outstanding senior artists from each campus for this one-of-a-kind online competition. Megan Nedds, senior book illustration major, was UF’s second nominee. Both entries can be seen at www.aicuoartaward.com
According to Hanf’s comments on the AICUO website she tends to work mostly in the digital medium. “I find myself inspired by everything around me, the people around me, random snips of conversation, or just everyday items,” she added.
All six winners, as well as various other nominated students, will be featured in a walking exhibition as part of a Gallery Hop in the Short North District in Columbus on May 7, 2016.
