The University of Findlay College of Health Professions and Findlay Family YMCA is hosting the 6th annual Healthy Kids Day on Friday, April 20 from 5-8 p.m. in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex on North Main Street. The event is free and open to the public.
This nationally sponsored YMCA effort includes University volunteers who staff plenty of fun and informative activities and learning stations for children and their caregivers. Each child completing a bingo card by visiting at least 25 of the 34 stations will be entered for some wonderful prizes, including YMCA memberships, sports gear and more!
Blanchard Valley Health Center will also be providing free, healthy food and snacks to all in attendance.
This year, new activities and learning stations will include a Ninja obstacle course hosted by UF’s Occupational Therapy Program and XT Fitness with Jim Steffen; a kids’ Safety Town; a “Hidden in Plain Sight” trailer, sponsored by Hancock Leadership, that is aimed at educating parents about drug use; and “Smoking Stinks!” hosted by UF pharmacy students.
Finally, a relay will be held in which children and their caregivers may team up and enjoy friendly competition.
