Heather Ward ‘15 has been named Vice President of Human Resources for the University of Findlay effective November 1, 2022.
Ward is no stranger to the University of Findlay, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from UF in 2015, and currently pursuing her MBA at Findlay. After more than 15 years in human resources with Whirlpool Corporation, Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., and DHL Supply Chain, Ward joined the University of Findlay staff in March of 2021, when she took the role of Assistant Director of Human Resources. After a short 17 months, she stepped into the role of Interim Vice President of Human Resources at the University of Findlay.
University of Findlay President Katherine Fell, Ph.D. made the title official earlier this month, stating, “All of us who have worked with Heather know that her extensive experience, compassion, attention to detail, and servant-leadership approach will serve our University well.”
The position of Vice President of Human Resources addresses the University’s needs of employee relations, hiring, training, compensation, benefits, and Human Resource Department planning and budgeting. In her role, Ward will also oversee the University’s Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ADA, affirmative action plans, tuition remission and exchange programs, and the employee handbook. Ward will also serve as a member of the University Fiduciary Committee, Emergency Operations Teams, and serve as a representative of Faculty Senate and Faculty Services Committees.
