MLK, Jr. Week ’22 to Feature Marathon VP of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
University of Findlay’s 2022 Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration will feature a presentation by keynote speaker Germaine Hunter, vice president of talent acquisition and diversity, equity, and inclusion at Marathon Petroleum.
The presentation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at noon in the Winebrenner Building, TLB Auditorium. Following the presentation, the campus community and public are welcome to share their stories and views during Open Mic Night in the Alumni Memorial Union at 7:30 p.m.
Hunter is responsible for the creation and deployment of Marathon’s enterprise-wide diversity action plan. Additionally, he is responsible for leading the company’s recruiting and hiring efforts across the United States.
Prior to Marathon, Hunter spent over twenty years working in the consumer-packaged goods industry, first at Procter and Gamble, then at The Clorox Company, where he held a variety of strategic planning and new brand development roles. He has broad experience in marketing and sales management. Hunter was the first Chief Diversity Officer at The Clorox Company, where he was instrumental in crafting strategies and plans that significantly increased the representation of women and people of color across the company’s global operations.
Hunter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

- Mobile Food Pantry – Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7 a.m.
