Orientation Weekend ’21: A Time for Tradition and Service
University of Findlay is preparing to welcome students back to campus for the fall 2021 semester. After a very unusual year, UF is buzzing with excitement for New Student Orientation Weekend which will be filled with service, learning, and social opportunities.
New Student Orientation Weekend Events:
Wednesday, Aug. 11 – Early move-in for students signed up for new student registration.
Thursday, Aug. 12 – Move-in day! Family, faculty, staff, returning students, and other volunteers will pitch in to help students move in to campus housing.
Friday, Aug. 13, 4 – 5:30 p.m. – Griffith Memorial Arch Ceremony for new students. As one of the oldest college traditions in Northwest Ohio, new students process through the Arch toward Old Main and, according to tradition, don’t walk back through it until graduation. This event will be live-streamed on the University’s Facebook page and by UFTV.
Saturday, Aug. 14 – Incoming freshmen will participate in the annual tradition of Student Orientation Service Projects. Students will be grouped and take part in a variety of activities, such as landscaping and a mobile food pantry, which benefit non-profit organizations, schools, and other groups within Findlay and Hancock County.
Monday, Aug. 16 – Classes begin for the standard semester sessions.
