The University of Findlay has launched a new program for students entering in Fall 2027 that offers first-time undergraduate students the best of both worlds: the personalized experience of a private institution at the price of a public university.
Through The Private Advantage / A Public Price program, eligible students can pursue a Findlay education with greater financial predictability from enrollment through graduation.
For qualifying students, the out-of-pocket cost for tuition and required fees will not exceed $13,500 after eligible federal and state grants and University of Findlay scholarships and grants are applied. That amount will remain the maximum cost for the duration of their undergraduate portion of their degree.
“We want students and families to know that a University of Findlay education is within reach,” said Nikki Hintze, vice president for enrollment and marketing. “This program gives qualifying students the opportunity to experience everything that makes the University of Findlay special while providing greater certainty about what they will pay. We believe it will open the door for more students to consider Findlay and see themselves as part of our community.”
The University of Findlay offers many advantages as a private university. These include, but are not limited to, smaller classes (12:1 student-to-teacher ratio), dedicated professors who know you by name, hands-on learning opportunities, a close-knit campus community, and personalized support from your first day through graduation.
This opportunity is not limited to Ohio residents, as qualifying students from any state are eligible to take part in The Private Advantage program.
“Choosing a college should be about more than comparing price tags,” Hintze said. “It should be about finding the place where you will be known, supported and challenged, and where you will gain the experiences that prepare you for what comes next. The Private Advantage / A Public Price gives students the opportunity to make that decision based on where they believe they will thrive.”
To be an eligible student for this program, the minimum qualifications are as follows:
- Enroll at the University of Findlay as a first-time undergraduate student
- Have a 3.0 or higher high school GPA
- Have an adjusted gross family income (AGI) of $125,000 or less
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Live on campus
Students who earn college credit while in high school, including through College Credit Plus, dual enrollment, or similar programs, remain eligible as long as they enroll at the University of Findlay as a first-time college student after high school graduation.
The $13,500 maximum applies to tuition and required fees only after eligible federal and state grants and UF scholarships and grants are applied. Housing, food, books, and other expenses are not included. Eligibility is subject to verification and University policies.
