Renee Smith, MD, Named to UF Board of Trustees
University of Findlay is pleased to welcome Renee Smith, MD to its Board of Trustees.
Dr. Smith is the chief medical officer of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS). She holds a bachelor of science in medical microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin (Madison, Wis.) and an executive master of business administration from the University of Wisconsin (Oshkosh, Wis.). Dr. Smith obtained her doctor of medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her family medicine residency at Waukesha Family Practice, an affiliate of the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Smith acquired many years of executive leadership experience from her time at Aspirus Network, Inc., a clinically integrated provider network in Wausau, Wis., where she served in a variety of roles, including regional director, chief of staff, chief medical officer, executive director and medical branch director – COVID-19 emergency operations center.
Dr. Smith and her husband, Michael, a general contractor, have four children: Dominic, Sam, Lilly, and Lizzy.
