Reverend Regina Holliday to speak at Health Equity Event
University of Findlay’s College of Pharmacy will welcome Reverend Regina Holliday, patient rights activist, artist, author, speaker, and founder of the Walking Gallery, to campus Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m. Holliday will speak at the University’s fourth annual Health Equity – I Can Make a Difference event, which is open to the public, and will take place in the Davis Street Building, room 2225.
Families and patients define their health care quality, safety, and overall experience as emotional, while health care providers define the experience as biological health. Reverend Regina Holliday seeks to close that gap to co-design outcomes and experiences and create humanism in health care. She is a patient advocate and artist known for painting murals depicting the need for clarity and transparency in medical records and reform health care standards.
This advocacy mission was inspired by her husband and his struggle to get appropriate health care. He suffered poor care coordination, a lack of access to data, and a series of medical errors, ultimately losing his battle and his life. Holliday’s husband’s death inspired her to create the change needed to drive better patient outcomes and communication for patients and families.
This event is made possible through the generosity of the College of Pharmacy, Student Government Association, UF Convocations Committee, and Walgreens Pharmacy.
