Southern Ohio Author to Give Readings at UF’s Ritz
Award-winning writer Neil Carpathios will be giving a public reading of selections from his works on Tuesday, April 9 at 8 p.m. in University of Findlay’s Ritz Auditorium in Old Main. The event will be free and open to the public.
Carpathios has written five full-length poetry collections: “Far Out Factoids,” “Confessions of a Captured Angel,” “Playground of Flesh,” “At the Axis of Imponderables” (2007 Quercus Review Book Award winner) and “Beyond the Bones.” He has also authored several chapbooks, and won the 2015 Slipstream Press Poetry Competition for his collection, “The Function of Sadness.”
He is editor of the 2015 anthology “Every River on Earth: Writing from Appalachian Ohio.” In addition to his books, he has been a guest and featured columnist, most recently in the Portsmouth Daily Times newspaper with his weekly column, “Let’s Talk Poetry,” in which he encourages the appreciation of poetry, showcasing work by poets in Southern Ohio.
