Spring 2016 Art Department Faculty Exhibition Now Open

The University of Findlay’s annual Art Department Faculty Exhibit has opened and will run through Jan. 29 in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion’s Lea Gallery. A free, public reception for the artists will be held Friday, Jan. 22 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the gallery.
Exhibiting their works are Ed Corle, associate professor of art who teaches ceramics, sculpture and three-dimensional design; Laura Corle, an adjunct instructor who teaches watercolors; Spencer Cunningham, an art instructor who specializes in photography; Valerie Escobedo, who teaches painting, drawing, printmaking and visual fundamentals; Diane Kontar, Ph.D., associate professor of art history, whose conceptual artwork is inspired by ideas about art history; Marie Louden-Hanes, Ph.D., professor of art history whose two large paintings in this year’s exhibit suggest the shapes

and shadows of a pine forest and the swell of the sea at the close of day; Anne Beekman, assistant professor of graphic design whose client accounts have included Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Verizon Wireless and more; and Anita McCandless, who has taught design at UF since 1990.
