Summer ’18 FindlayMag Focuses on Meaningful Lives
What does it mean to have a “meaningful life,” a key term within the University of Findlay’s mission statement? Alumni, retirees, professors and others address this question in the Summer 2018 FindlayMag issue, now available to read for free online. It can be accessed here.
Three features include:
- “Be the Good,” the cover story that showcases successful alumni Billy Watterson ’96, CEO of Watterson Brands; Julie Yingling ’88 M’17, health services director at UF’s Cosiano Health Center; Shelby True ’16, zookeeper at Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, Pennsylvania; Jacob King ’17, community relations coordinator for Familia Dental in Madison, Wisconsin; and Brent Sleasman, Ph.D. ’96, Winebrenner Theological Seminary president.
- “Science Never Ends,” featuring biology professors Justin Rheubert and Robert Charvat, Ph.D., who are researching snake venom’s potential use as an antibiotic.
- “Slowing Down but Never Quitting,” an ode to Vicki McClurkin, who recently retired after 30 years as UF’s director of musicals.
This issue also highlights the Oiler Success Center, Alumna Angela Brown’s decision to establish an endowed Christian ministries scholarship, the philosophy of giving espoused by Board of Trustees member Brant Rhoad ’00, and artist Tom Lichtenheld’s donations to the Mazza Museum.
