Susie’s Coats, a Toledo clothing giveaway for the needy that is organized by Susan Perry, a University of Findlay faculty member, will distribute items on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Cherry Street Mission’s Life Revitalization Center, 1501 Monroe Street.
Doors will open at 10 a.m. Guests will not be required to verify their income. Anyone can pick up items for themselves or people they know who are in need.
The giveaway helps to meet the needs of underprivileged Toledoans by offering new and gently used coats, scarves and gloves. Susie’s Coats also donates items to homeless shelters and to Toledo Public Schools students. As a United Way 211 provider, the charity also is serving Lucas, Sandusky, Wood and Hancock Counties with apparel.
Donations will be accepted through Thursday, Dec. 1. They can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Cherry Street Mission’s Life Revitalization Center.
This year will mark the 11th annual distribution for the organization. Last year, more than 3,000 items were donated.
