Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity ’21 Held Virtually
University of Findlay’s 15th annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity (SSC), a celebration of academic research and scholarship, was held virtually on Friday, April 9, 2021.
The SSC, established by Dr. Debow Freed to recognize student excellence and achievement across all University programs, allows students to network with peers, showcase their skills, and share their research through oral and poster presentations.
In this year’s virtual format, presentations were conducted via Zoom so students, faculty, staff, family, and the community could watch in real-time. Over 140 poster and oral presentations by undergraduate and graduate students were submitted. Research topics ranged from the use of art as a form of therapy for those who are chronically ill or disabled, to an examination of the impact pandemics have on anxiety and self-esteem.
An awards ceremony honoring distinguished students was also held virtually. Recordings of student presentations and awards can be viewed on the SSC webpage.
Please join the University in thanking these students for their hard work, and congratulate them on their achievements. For more information on the 15th annual SSC, or to watch recordings, visit the Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity webpage.
