Thank a Donor Day 2020 to be Celebrated
Albert Camus said once that “real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.” The University of Findlay campus community is slated to recognize and show its appreciation for those who have given to its present and future during Thank a Donor Day on Thursday, February 13.
At the Center for Student life between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., students, faculty and staff will be writing notes of appreciation, doing a student organization scavenger hunt, and recording earnest “thank you” videos, among other activities to celebrate the generosity of our donors. The events and activities will be shared on social media throughout and later in the day. Look for social media posts featuring tags with hashtag #ThankUFDonors.
UF’s prosperity and good fortune have largely been due to many generations of alumni, parents, corporations, foundations, University faculty and staff, and even students, all of whom having opened their hearts to make a Findlay education possible.
The numbers speak for themselves. For the 2018-2019 school year:
- $1.3 million in donor-funded scholarships were awarded to students.
- 826 donor-funded scholarships were awarded to 501 students.
- 88 percent of faculty and staff made gifts to support the University.
- 247 UF students gave a total of $5,077.
The Thank a Donor Day 2019 video illustrates how UF celebrates this special occasion.
