The Importance of Being Earnest: UF Theatre Performance

University of Findlay’s Theatre program will be performing “The Importance of Being Earnest” on the weekend of Nov. 10-13, 2022 at the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre. Showtimes are as follows: Nov. 10-12 – 7:30 p.m., Nov. 13 – 2:00 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to showtime.

Tickets are available at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts box office at 200 W. Main Cross St., by visiting the MCPA website, or by calling 419-423-2787. Ticket prices are General Public: $8; UF faculty, staff, and students – Free with a valid University ID.

“The Importance of Being Earnest” is about two lovely young ladies in Victorian England who are determined to marry men called Earnest. Two young men who are not named Earnest are determined to find a way to marry those ladies. With the help of a misplaced manuscript, a mysterious handbag, and lots of cucumber sandwiches, almost everyone gets their happy ending. Oscar Wilde’s most frequently produced play, “The Importance of Being Earnest,” is a tour de force of sparkling wit and social satire.
