The University of Findlay will host “Service Dogs in the Work Environment,” a free, public talk offered by Findlay resident Louis Belluomini and his service dog, Star. The event will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium.
Belluomini, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Afghanistan, will speak about his experience with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, will address the practice of service dogs being used as a treatment option, and will offer information on how to treat and handle service dogs in the work environment and health care fields.
With assistance from Star, a Labrador and golden retriever mix from the Florida-based K9s For Warriors program, Belluomini now works as a medic for ProMedica Air and Mobile in Toledo.
