UF alumnus embraces being a role model in education
Andrew Sprang received his B.A. in History (’00) and M.A. in Education (’04) from The University of Findlay.
After graduation, Andrew started his career in education as a teacher and is now the superintendent of Fostoria City Schools. He is a big believer in being a role model for his students, and wants any students considering a career in the field of education to be prepared for the same.
“Choosing to be a teacher is a 24-hour 7-day a week commitment, because no matter where you are people are always going to be watching you. You are a role model, and you have to embrace that. The reason I’m in education is because of my high school social studies teacher. He took it to another level of caring about us and pushed us to be the best we could be. You always have to remember to give that back, and education is a great way to do that. It’s a great way to provide for future generations.”
