UF Announces New Endowment Funds
In conjunction with its 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Your Voice to Your Values campaign, The University of Findlay announces nine new endowed funds:
Class of 1964 Scholarship
Members of the Findlay College Class of 1964 established this fund as part of their 50-year celebration. The recipient must be a full-time student in any year of study and have a 3.0 GPA.
Billy J. ‘96 and Brenda Watterson Scholarship
The Wattersons established this fund to encourage and support students interested in entrepreneurship. The scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student in good standing with The University of Findlay.
Class of 1960 Scholarship
The members of the Class of 1960 established this scholarship. It is awarded to full-time students in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study who have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Pharmacy Camp Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Your Voice to Your Values campaign, The University of Findlay’s College of Pharmacy faculty and staff established the Pharmacy Camp Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who attended a UF pharmacy camp during their junior or senior year of high school and are enrolled in the pharmacy program at The University of Findlay.
GSW Manufacturing, Inc. Study Abroad Scholarship
In conjunction with the Give Voice to Your Values Campaign, GSW Manufacturing, Inc. established the GSW Manufacturing, Inc. Study Abroad Scholarship Endowment Fund. Established in 1989, GSW is the North American headquarters for its parent company G.S. Electech of Toyota City, Japan. The company manufactures electrical and/or hose assemblies. It is the donor’s intent that this fund will help encourage students at The University of Findlay to learn about the Japanese culture. The fund supports full-time domestic students in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study to help cover costs to study in Japan.
Susan E. Ford Scholarship
Susan E. Ford, Class of 1968, established this scholarship to assist students at The University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to graduates of Findlay High School, (Findlay, Ohio), Upper Sandusky High School, (Upper Sandusky, Ohio), Rutherford B. Hayes High School (Delaware, Ohio) or students graduating from any other high school in Hancock County, Ohio. The scholarship will assist students in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study who have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Student Leader Scholarship
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, and acting on their strong-held belief that education is of utmost importance, Dr. Dan May, former vice president for academic affairs and David Emsweller, vice president for student services, established the Student Leader Scholarship Endowment fund at The University of Findlay. Scholarship assistance will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree in an approved major. The recipient shall display exemplary leadership qualities through participation and identified leadership roles in campus organizations, community not-for-profit organizations, or other local, state or national service groups. The recipient shall also have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Ken Vaupel Basketball Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and the Give Voice to Your Values campaign, Ken Vaupel established the Ken Vaupel Basketball Endowment Fund to support the men’s varsity basketball program at The University of Findlay. Vaupel is the co-owner of Alfagreen Supreme. Founded in 1960, Alfagreen Supreme has gained experience in growing and supplying dehydrated alfalfa to domestic and international markets. Through decades of hard work and innovation, their privately-held entity continues to seed success through enhanced products and services.
College of Pharmacy Advisory Board Endowment Fund
In conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive, the members of the College of Pharmacy Advisory Board established this fund to advance the academic priorities of the college.
