UF Board of Trustees Appoints New Chair and Vice Chair
University of Findlay congratulates Chris Ostrander on being elected Board of Trustees Chair, and Michael Harrington for the Board of Trustees Vice Chair. Both terms began Jan. 1, 2021.
Ostrander succeeds A.R. Charnes, who held the position of Board Chair since 2014. “I appreciate the honor my fellow Trustees have entrusted me with as the next Board Chairman of the University of Findlay,” said Ostrander. “I speak for all Trustees in thanking A.R. Charnes and his wife, Mary Ann, for their many years of service to the University. Their dedication and support have been truly outstanding, and I am humbled at the opportunity to continue to improve upon what A.R. has done for the University of Findlay.”
Academically, Ostrander holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science & Technology, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Michigan.
A stellar record of management is heavily reflected in Ostrander’s work history. His current professional experience includes CEO and Partner of Premier Staffing Solution, LLC, Partner and Chairman of Cornerstone Consulting Organization, LLC, and Partner and Chairman of Kensington Hill Capital, LLC. Previously, Ostrander served as the CEO of the Family Office of Gardner & Sons, CEO of AP Emissions Technologies, and President of Cooper Tire and Rubber.
Harrington holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University, and an MBA in Finance from The Ohio State University.
Professionally, Harrington is a private investor and business advisor to companies in the beverage, consumer research, investment management, and real estate industries. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman and President of Oak Ridge Investments, Managing Director of Deutsche Asset Management, and Executive Vice President of Zurich Kemper Investments to name a few.
“Because of the high quality of leadership we have in our staff, faculty, and the board of trustees, I am confident the University is well-prepared to help fulfill the mission we have to equip our students for meaningful lives and productive careers,” Ostrander stated. “Having a seasoned professional like Dr. Fell as President and a Vice Chairman the caliber of Mike will be extremely beneficial as we tackle and overcome the challenges we are facing in higher education.”
With their significant experience and proven dedication to the University of Findlay since Ostrander’s appointment to the board in 2013 and Harrington’s appointment in 2011, the University is excited to see what the future holds.
