The University of Findlay is mourning the June 16 death of Dr. C. Darrell Prichard , who served on UF’s board of trustees from 1993 to 2009 and was named trustee emeritus.
Prichard was known for his life of service and dedication to the Churches of God, General Conference. He graduated from Findlay College, where he served as class president, in 1955, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1959 he earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary. He then pastored several churches, becoming senior pastor for College First church of God in 1980. He also served as administrator of the Ohio Conference of the Churches of God and president of the Foundation of the Great Lakes Conference.
Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2010, Prichard decided to address his illness publicly, garnering support and awareness for those with Alzehimer’s. He and his wife, Alberta, spoke at conferences, worked at fundraising activities and counseled others who called for advice. In 2013 article in UF’s Archlink, Alberta said they “found a ministry in talking to others about Alzehimer’s.”
