The University of Findlay’s 2018 Homecoming and Family Weekend, to take place Oct. 5-7, will be a storied event! Featuring the theme “Where Your Story Began,” the celebration will also appropriately focus on Shafer Library’s 50th anniversary.
Plenty of events will be open to the public, including:
Friday, Oct. 5
3-5 p.m. – Shafer Library’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Take a tour to see what’s new at the library, and take a look into its interesting past in the University archives.
9:15 p.m. – Fireworks at the Davis Street building parking lot.
Saturday, Oct. 6
8 a.m. – 5K Run/Walk, with registration beginning at 7:15 a.m. at the Alumni Memorial Union. Proceeds will support the UF chapter of the Academy of Student Pharmacists.
3 p.m. – Football game, Oilers vs. Hillsdale College, at Donnell Stadium.
Sunday, Oct. 7
10 a.m. – Homecoming and Family Weekend Worship Service at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
1-:30-3:30 p.m. – Funday Sunday at UF’s Mazza Museum will feature the theme, “Where Your Story Begins.” Fun family activities will include storytelling, art stations, music, refreshments and special guests. Kids will be immersed in a mini college visit that will allow them to experience the different departments on campus and what they have to offer. Over 16 stations will be available for young participants, and the University’s planetarium will be open.
