UF Student Awarded the American FFA Degree
University of Findlay’s College of Business student Jay Evers was awarded the gold standard American FFA Degree during the 95th National Future Farmers of America Convention & Expo.
As the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, the American FFA Degree shows an FFA member’s dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. “I’ve been working toward the American Degree since I was in eighth grade,” said Evers. “Seeing the older kids, role models, participate in FFA was a big part of my dedication to getting the American Degree.” The award demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.
FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners, and more. “FFA has helped me develop valuable skills, gain new experiences, and build my resume,” said Evers. Evers plans on leveraging the skills he has learned here at the university and during his time in FFA into a successful business career.
