UF to Host “All That Jazz” for Annual Pops Concert
The ever-evolving, expanding, and enjoyable form of music known as jazz will be performed as the University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble join at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium for their annual Pops Concert.
Admission is free but tickets are required. They can be picked up at the door or reserved in advance at Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, 200 W. Main Cross St., (419) 423-2787.
“All That Jazz” will be the theme for this year’s concert. Under the direction of Jack Taylor, UF’s professor of music, the bands will perform selections of American Jazz for the concert.
Featured soloists will include Desra Dabney, instructor of flute at UF, and jazz vocalist and recording artist, Lori LeFevre-Johnson. Several area professional performing jazz artists will also assist on the program.
Senior band members will honor select UF faculty and staff members at intermission.
