UF to Host Disney-themed Pops Concert

University of Findlay piano instructor Jessica Briggs, Ph.D., will be the Jan. 10 Pops Concert’s featured soloist.

Prepare to get swept away with musical movie memories at the University of Findlay’s upcoming Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble Pops Concert. “Disney Goes to the Movies” will be the theme of the Sunday, Feb. 10 concert scheduled for 3 p.m. in Winebrenner Building’s TLB Auditorium.

Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, the band will perform music from “Pocahontas,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Planes,” “Aladdin,” “Mary Poppins” and other favorites.

The featured soloist will be Jessica Briggs, Ph.D., piano instructor at UF. She will perform a work entitled “Dreamsong” and the Grieg “Concerto in A Minor.”

Senior band members will honor select UF faculty and staff members at intermission.
