UF to Host Virtual Career Networking for 2020 Graduates
2020 University of Findlay graduates are invited to attend one of several virtual University of Findlay Alumni Career Roundtables to network, build relationships, and gain valuable career insight from a panel of seasoned Findlay alumni. Each of the University’s six colleges will be represented in a Zoom event which will be moderated by the college dean and staffed with a college-specific alumni panel.
This has certainly been an unusual end to the academic year, and the University is aware that many new graduates may not know where to go next. Julie Klingler, director of the Wolfe Center for Alumni, Parents & Friends, explained that, “Many UF 2020 graduates find themselves in positions where they have lost internships or cannot find jobs in this uncertain economic situation. Now more than ever, we want to make sure we’re giving them the resources they need for success. These roundtable events can provide them the necessary industry connections and knowledge to help jump-start their careers.”
Each Alumni Career Roundtable will be offered via Zoom, and will begin at noon (EST). Registration for the event is required, and can be done on the University of Findlay Alumni Career Roundtable page. The schedule for the series of Alumni Career Roundtable events is as follows:
- College of Business – May 27
- College of Education – June 3
- College of Sciences – June 10
- College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences – June 17
- College of Health Professions & Pharmacy – June 24
- Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability – July 1
Attendees are encouraged to work with the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) staff prior to the event to ensure their resumes are complete and to help prepare any career questions they may have for the panel. “One of the lifetime benefits for UF alumni is career and professional assistance from our CCPD office and we want them to know we support them now and always,” said Klingler. It is also encouraged that attendees bring a current resume and completed LinkedIn page for reference, a short bio highlighting career objectives, and prepared questions to ask seasoned alumni.
