UF to Offer a Virtual Veterans Day Observance
University of Findlay invites the campus community and friends to honor the bravery, commitment, and sacrifices through a virtual observance this Veterans Day Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. (EST).
An observance of Veterans Day 2020 will be held at the University of Findlay’s Veterans Wall in the Center for Student Life and College of Business Building. The event can be watched through the livestream by UFTV and will be available on UFTV’s YouTube channel.
Findlay is honored to present Bret Bahn ’99, M.D., as a guest speaker. A native of Hancock County, Bahn received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Findlay and went on to obtain his Medical Degree before serving in the U.S. Navy.
Schedule:
The Observance will begin with a presentation of the colors by Boy Scout Troop 308 of Findlay’s Black Swamp Area Council.
An invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Lindsey Grace Allen, campus ministries member and sophomore in the Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Programs.
Dr. SeaHwa Jung will direct the University’s Choir in a virtual performance of the National Anthem.
Ryan Gildow, junior in the Pharmacy Program and band member, will have the honor of playing “Taps”.
Along with special guest, Bahn, remarks will also be made by University President Katherine Fell, Ph.D., and Nicole Burgy ’99, president of the alumni board of governors.
Following the closing remarks, a reading of the names from the University’s Veterans Wall will occur.
