UF’s 15th Annual Food Drive Collects an Astounding 165,735 Pounds of Food
University of Findlay and Sodexo’s 15th Annual Helping Hands Food Drive surpassed all expectations with a total of 165,735 pounds collected!
All donations benefit CHOPIN Hall, a Findlay nonprofit that serves people within the region that has been providing food to those in need for 36 years.
This year’s collections surpassed last year’s number of 115,867 by 49,868 pounds!
Since 2008, UF has led the nation each year with most pounds collected for Helping Hands. Though collections for the 15th Annual Helping Hands Food Drive looked different than those in the past, the entire community came together to show support and help those in need.
Other noteworthy statistics:
- 35,454 pounds of food were donated along with monetary donations equivalent to 130,281 pounds of food.
- The top UF faculty and staff team that donated was Student Affairs with 537 pounds per person for a total of 26,892 lbs.
- The total amount collected to date through Helping Hands at UF is 883,404 pounds.
