The University of Findlay’s fall New Student Arch Ceremony, held annually for each incoming class to celebrate their educational continuation into college life, was held on Friday in front of Old Main. Hundreds of new students participated in the traditional march through Griffith Memorial Arch, with cheering faculty, staff, friends and family lining their path.
UF’s Flickr album of the event can be access here.
UF’s tradition is that new students walk through the arch toward Old Main, and don’t walk back through it in the opposite direction until they graduate.
Friday’s event also included remarks for students in Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex by UF alumnus and CPA J.R. Haley, Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s vice president of tax; a balloon release; and music by the Oiler Marching Brass. Following the Arch Ceremony, Dr. Fell hosted a farewell reception for parents and students at the Carrothers Home.
