The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum will lift the “By Appointment Only” requirement on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, and will resume normal hours of operation.
Visitors are invited to stop by the Museum, Gift Shop, and The Havens Resource Center and Library Wednesday through Friday 12-5 p.m., and Sunday 1-4 p.m. to explore the art of children’s picture books after June 2, 2021.
Following the recent announcement made by Governor Mike DeWine regarding the expiration of COVID-19 health orders, the Mazza Museum is updating their safety guidelines and requirements to align with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is excited to reopen without appointment, allowing visitors to stop in at any time during our open hours,” said Ben Sapp, director of the Mazza Museum. “Since March of 2020, we have missed our volunteers and our visitors sharing together these wonderful works of art in our galleries. Please come back and be a part of this special experience again!”
Along with allowing visitors to once again visit the Museum freely without a scheduled appointment, facial coverings will no longer be required, though individuals who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask or face covering for their own protection. Arrows and other signage are in place throughout the Museum to encourage physical distancing and show the recommended flow of traffic for visitors.
Advanced cleaning and disinfecting measures will remain in place including the frequent cleaning of high-touch areas such as payment stations, door handles, and railings. Hand sanitizer stations are available for use throughout the Museum and masks will be provided for visitors, volunteers, and staff upon request.
In order to continue to provide the best possible experience and protect the health and safety of visitors, volunteers, and staff, the White Discovery Loft will remain closed until further notice.
