Undergraduate Business Program adds Business Analytics Emphasis
In an increasingly data-driven world, businesses are leveraging information to gain a key, competitive advantage. University of Findlay’s undergraduate business administration program is addressing this trend by adding Business Analytics to the list of now 11 emphases.
The Business Analytics Emphasis will provide students with the skills to collect, analyze, understand, and interpret data. It exposes students to a variety of information systems and data through a series of business analytics courses. Students will also be provided with hands-on experience with statistical tools used in the business environment using data provided by industry partners.
“What I think makes this emphasis unique is the strong combination of math and computer science coursework in a business context,” said Damon Osborne, interim dean for the College of Business. “The Business Analytics emphasis provides an interesting and in demand alternate path the quantitatively-minded students seeking to branch out beyond the accounting and finance fields of study.”
The curriculum is designed to support a seamless transition from student to business professional. Students who select Business Analytics as their area of emphasis will graduate prepared to have careers as market research analysts, data architects, financial analysts, business analysts, quantitative analysts, and operations research analysts, among others.
The University of Findlay is preparing the next generation of business leaders by providing them with both the foundational skills and in-depth knowledge required to be successful in the world of business. Undergraduate students in the College of Business work towards earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in an area of their choosing.
