The University of Findlay Theatre Program will present Jen Silverman’s darkly surreal comedy The Moors Sept. 25–27 at the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre in the Egner Center for the Performing Arts.
Set in the 1800s in a secluded manor on the moors, the play follows two sisters, a governess, a maid, a dog and a bird in a mysterious and unconventional tale that blends dark comedy with elements of violence. The production is recommended for teens and older audiences.
The cast features University of Findlay students Kloey Kinnear as Agatha, Emma Cales as Huldey, Eva Hancock as Emilie, Jenna Nance as Marjory, Evan McQuillen as the Mastiff, and Jillian King as a Moor-Hen.
UF faculty member Chloe Whiting-Stevenson serves as director and intimacy/violence coordinator, with UF graduate student Sidney Furge as stage manager. The production’s poster and social media graphics were also designed by UF students.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25–26, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. General admission is $8, while University of Findlay students, faculty and staff receive free admission with ID.
Tickets are available through the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. More information is available at mcpa.org or by calling 419-423-2787.
The Moors is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
