University of Findlay Welcomes Community Members to 2023 Healthy Kids Day
University of Findlay will host their annual Healthy Kids Day on Friday, April 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex. Partnering with the Findlay Family YMCA, Blanchard Valley Health Systems, and Hancock Public Health, the University welcomes families to enjoy dozens of fun activities aimed to motivate and teach kids how to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The event is free and open to the public for children of all ages.
Healthy Kids Day is a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. For over 30 years, the YMCA and their communities across the country have hosted the event. “Yes, it’s a YMCA initiative, but what’s great for our Findlay/Hancock County community is the collaboration piece. It’s the YMCA, Blanchard Valley, Hancock Public Health, University of Findlay, and all of these other organizations and businesses that come and help as well. It really gives community members multiple resources and helps promote healthy lives,” said Chandlar Cramer, Senior Program Director of the Findlay Downtown YMCA.
Families can take part in obstacle courses, backyard games, relays, learn about first aid and medication safety, enjoy a bounce house and face painting, and meet local first responders and UF’s Derrick the Oiler.
