Katherine Fell, Ph.D., president of The University of Findlay, has been invited to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). Her term will end at the NAICU Annual Meeting in February 2016.
NAICU’s focus is on strengthening the current structure and funding of federal financial aid programs; reducing the regulatory burden on independent colleges and universities; and amending the tax code to assist independent institutions and the capacity of students and families to save, pay for college and repay loans.
There are 47 members on the organization’s board of directors. Twenty-four members, all presidents of member colleges or universities, are directly elected by region to three-year terms by the membership. These 24 members elect 12 additional directors, all college or university presidents. The chair and past chair of the board also serve as members.
Fell also serves on the Executive Committee of The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges and the founding Board of Directors for The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.
