Findlay Presents Faculty Awards

The University of Findlay held a faculty recognition and appreciation dinner on Monday, April 2. The following faculty members were recognized:

• Patricia Abels, D.B.A., CPA, Shiv Kumar Gupta Award for Excellence in Teaching Business. Member of the faculty since 2006. Established by Dr. Gupta and his family, this award is to recognize teaching excellence in the College of Business.
• Anne Albert, Faculty Chair in College of Sciences. Member of the faculty since 1979.
• Janice Blum, Founders’ Academic Excellence Award. Member of the faculty since 2001. The award honors all-around academic excellence and Christian witness. Established by the Churches of God and the University, this award is a tribute to overall academic excellence within the context of positive Christian witness on campus.
• Lucinda Bouillon, PT, Ph.D., Sharon Milligan Faculty Excellence Award. Member of the faculty since 1998. This award was named in honor of Sharon Milligan who served The University of Findlay for 44 years prior to her retirement in 2011.
• Susan Brooks, James D. and Judith L. Philipp Award for Excellence in the College of Education. Member of the faculty since 2007. Established in conjunction with the 125th Endowed Funds Drive and with heartfelt love and dedication to UF, Duane and Judy Philipp established the James D. and Judith L. Philipp Award of Excellence for the College of Education Endowment. This award is to recognize excellence in the areas of teaching, supervision and support of students in the College of Education.
• Nicole Diederich, Ph.D., Harriette Smith Ritz Service Award. Member of the faculty since 1997. The award highlights the importance of service to the institution by faculty members. This award recognizes exemplary contributions to academic governance and other service leadership roles within a program/department, college or the institution at large.
• Valerie Escobedo, Elizabeth S. Gupta Award for Excellence in Teaching Fine Arts. Member of the faculty since 2007. Established by Dr. Shiv Gupta and his family, this award is to recognize teaching excellence in the area of fine arts.
• Robin Koehler, David L. Allen Award for Teaching. Member of the faculty since 1989. In 2002, Allen established the David L. Allen Award for Teaching Excellence, an endowed award given annually to a deserving member of the UF faculty. The award is a tribute to holistic teaching excellence both in and out of the classroom.
• Ron Tulley, Ph.D., Richard E. Wilkin Chair in College of Liberal Arts. Member of the faculty since 2004.
• John Wolper, Ed.D., Faculty Chair in College of Business. Member of the faculty since 2001.
