Oiler Up and Give Back on UF’s Day of Giving
The University of Findlay invites alumni, faculty, staff, students, and the community to Oiler Up and Give Back on a global day of unity and giving May 5. UF is aligning the Oiler Up, Give Back Day of Giving with #GivingTuesdayNow, an international emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
The University knows that the current pandemic has restricted traditional ways of coming together, but there are still opportunities for us all to come together and support one another. UF’s mission of preparing students for meaningful lives and productive careers is more important than ever right now as alumni all over the country, and the world, do their part to make a difference on the front lines of this crisis. By making a gift on May 5, you will help prepare the next generation of Oilers to go on to make discoveries, start new businesses, inspire others, and even save lives.
Kelly Warner, University of Findlay director of annual giving, explained that, “private support allows the University to operate smoothly, enables innovation, and provides fuel for growth. It unlocks potential and allows our faculty and staff to get down to business and do what they’re best at.” Along with supporting university growth and providing scholarships to students, these gifts also, “[make] it possible for us to weather crises without losing momentum” she continued.
Gifts may be given to any area, however supporting the Findlay Fund, Findlay Forward Scholarships, or the UF Student Emergency Fund is the best way to make an immediate impact, as it gives University leadership the flexible funding to both answer our most urgent needs and take advantage of unforeseen opportunities.
With the impact of COVID-19 being so widespread, the University understands that a monetary gift may not be feasible for everyone. In addition to making a gift on the day of giving, there are several ways to get involved! Join us in fun social media challenges throughout day including cutest oiler pet, farthest oiler gift, caption Derrick, and show your UF spirit.
Your gift joins many others, big and small, to help prepare the next generation of Oilers in just one day. “I hope you’ll join us virtually next Tuesday as we come together as one Oiler Nation that is driven by the progression of our students,” said Warner.
