The University of Findlay’s College of Business is hosting its second annual Innovation Competition this semester. Undergraduate students of any major will compete for cash prizes by designing and presenting a sustainable business model that would benefit the City of Findlay businesses and services.
Any University of Findlay undergraduate student is eligible to compete as an individual or in a team of up to four students. Participants will develop a sustainable idea, create a business model and deliver a final presentation to judges. Those in the final round will compete for cash prizes totaling $4,250 per division.
The divisions in which each team can compete include:
- “New Venture” where contestants must explain a novel idea or opportunity for a product or service
- “Small Business” in which they must detail how an independently owned and operated business could be established in Findlay
- “Community Outreach” which require contestants to explain the services and benefits that could be extended to community members to fill gaps not being provided by for-profit and governmental organizations
Applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. More information and the application can be found at https://www.findlay.edu/business/innovation.
