Summer ’22 FindlayMag: Thinking Critically, Leading Ethically

The Summer 2022 issue of the FindlayMag highlights the importance of ethical leadership with stories of University of Findlay alumni paving the way for future students, how faculty in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences work to build students’ foundational understanding of ethics, and more.

Featured stories and topics include:

• Billy ’96 and Brenda Watterson donated a hefty $7 million as a lead gift in the construction of the new Watterson Center for Ethical Leadership – a building that will serve as a focal point on campus for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
• Laiying Alvarado, a senior sports business strategy major, sheds light on the importance of leadership both on and off the tennis court.
• UF Distinguished Alumna Jeanne (Wolfe ’71) Kelly has seen many accomplishments in her career, including recently being recognized in the inaugural HelpAge USA 60 over 60 list which also includes big names such as Tom Hanks, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dolly Parton, and Jimmy Carter.
• Faculty in UF’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences dive head-first into the broad topic of ethical leadership, what it means to students, and why it’s so important for future success.

Several new graduates shared their thoughts on Findlay as well in this issue of the FindlayMag, including Elizabeth Sailer, a 2022 graduate from the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, who said, “I never knew how much my decision to attend UF would make a difference in my life. Because of the caring and supportive faculty and staff, I have been able to build not only a career that I love, but also a life that I love.”
