‘There’s No Place like Homecoming’ at UF

There really is no better place to be than at the University of Findlay during Homecoming and Family Weekend! Many fun activities for students, staff, alumni, and the community are planned.
Kicking off Homecoming festivities Friday Oct. 14 is the annual Oiler Bash from 7-9 p.m. in Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex. There will be comedy, ventriloquism and magic with David Crone from Columbus Ohio. Inflatables, a carnival, and a photo booth will also be there for everyone to enjoy!
After Oiler Bash in the Davis Street parking lot the 9th annual alumni fireworks will be taking place at 9:15 p.m.
Also happening Friday is the classes of 1966, and 1976 reunions, the Homecoming court and award recipient dinner with alumni board of governors, and Oiler Octoberfest where all Greek organizations, Dana Scholar Alumni and past chairs will be reconnecting and visiting at Alexandria’s Gastropub in downtown Findlay.
The fun continues bright and early the next morning for the 5k run/walk. Registration starts at 6:45 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. Proceeds will support the American Heart Association and the UF Academy of Student Pharmacists. The cost of the walk is $20 for the public and $10 for UF students with a valid student ID. A free T-shirt will also be included.
Then make sure to come out to Donnell Stadium to support our Oilers football team as they take on the Hillsdale Chargers at 2 p.m. The 2016 homecoming court will be announced as well as the new homecoming king and queen.
Other fun events for people to enjoy will be the Alumni Association Annual breakfast, Class of 1991 reunion, the GO! Mixer where graduates from the last decade are invited to tailgate before the football game, and the ESOH 30th anniversary celebration will be taking place at Alexandria’s Gastropub.
Sunday things will start to wrap up with the 2nd annual ESOH Alumni golf scramble and the Panhellenic Alumnae Brunch.
