UF Launches New DEI Minor

University of Findlay is excited to announce the launch of its new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) minor, designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate today’s dynamic and multicultural work environments. This pioneering program underscores the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society and preparing graduates to excel in an increasingly diverse world.
“In our society it is important to recognize that the world is made up of different people, each bringing a unique understanding and experience to the workplace,” said Jennifer Fennema-Bloom, chair of the Department of Language and Culture. “Learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion as a minor illustrates that you are an ally interested in creating a work environment that respects and fosters belonging.
The DEI minor responds to the growing demand for professionals who can effectively engage with diverse communities and contribute to an equitable and inclusive workplace. Through this interdisciplinary curriculum, students will explore the intricate social, institutional, and psychological aspects that shape individuals’ perceptions and interactions within organizations.
